Sustainability Advisory & Board

Sustainability is not a department. It is a way of thinking, leading, and organising — and the organisations that get it right are the ones that make it everyone's business, not just the sustainability team's.

I bring over 30 years of experience at the intersection of sustainability, people, and change in commodity supply chains, multi-stakeholder initiatives, and NGOs. My work in this space is always about the same thing: helping organisations move from sustainability as a compliance exercise to sustainability as a genuine driver of culture, strategy, and impact.

I work with NGOs and sustainability departments in corporates who need strategic thinking, sector expertise, and someone who understands both the technical and the human dimensions of sustainable change.

My experience spans responsible sourcing across coffee, cocoa, tea, tropical fruits, and nuts — including deep work on supply chain transparency, risk mapping, voluntary standards, and multi-stakeholder governance. I have built and led global teams, designed and facilitated multi-stakeholder initiatives, and navigated the complex dynamics between corporates, NGOs, certification bodies, and producer communities across five continents.

What I bring that is less common: the ability to connect sustainability strategy to leadership culture and people. Sustainability strategies fail not because they are wrong but because the people who need to implement them are not brought along. That is where my coaching and culture change background becomes an asset in advisory work — I don't just help you define the strategy, I help you build the human conditions for it to land.

Teaching & Speaking

From October 2026 I will be lecturing Business Ethics & Sustainability at the Swiss Institute for Business Administration (SIB) — integrating leadership into the curriculum, because ethical business and sustainable leadership are inseparable.

I am currently completing the SVEB certificate in adult education, which equips me to design and deliver training and learning programmes for professional and organisational contexts — not just one-off talks, but structured learning journeys that build lasting capability.

I am available for guest lectures, keynote speaking, and custom training programmes on business ethics, sustainable leadership, and culture change — in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese.

Board Contribution

I currently serve as Chairwoman of the Swiss Sustainable Coffee Platform (SSCP) — a multi-stakeholder initiative in which the Swiss coffee industry, the Swiss government (SECO), civil society, and the research community have come together for the first time to address sustainability challenges in the Swiss coffee sector jointly and with shared ambitions.

Board work, done well, is a form of leadership development in itself — holding strategic direction, navigating competing interests, and ensuring that mission and governance stay aligned. I bring to board mandates the same combination I bring to all my work: sector expertise, cross-cultural fluency, and a people-centred approach to governance.

I am selectively open to board mandates in organisations whose mission aligns with my values around sustainability, ethics, and human development.

How we work together

Every engagement starts with a conversation. Sustainability advisory work is typically project-based — a defined scope, a clear deliverable, and a timeline that works for your organisation. Teaching and speaking engagements are arranged individually. Board conversations happen when the fit is right on both sides.
